Whitegood sales

Back to Whitegoods

This page describes how you may be able claim energy savings from the sale of efficient whitegoods under the scheme

Description

Accredited Certificate Providers who sell and/or install energy efficient appliances are eligible to create and sell energy savings certificates. The additional income from energy savings certificates may allow you to sell products at lower prices to your customers.

How can I save energy

Your customers will save energy when using more energy efficient appliances. If they transfer these energy savings over to you as an Accredited Certificate Provider, you will be able to create energy savings certificates when you make a sale.

How to calculate energy savings

Energy savings are calculated simply by multiplying the number of items sold by the Default Savings Factor, without any need for engineering assessments or complex calculations for each appliance sold, installed or removed.

The Deemed Energy Savings Method for whitegood sales uses Tables 5, 6, 8a, 8b, 8c, 8d of the Rule to determine the Default Savings Factor. The Default Savings Factor depends on the type and energy star rating of the appliance.

Use the Deemed Energy Savings Method, applying Default Savings Factors. See section 9.3 of the Rule.

Recording your energy savings

You must keep records of all sales or installations. The records must verify the type, model and serial number of each sale.

Have you considered?

You may choose to combine your whitegood sales or fridge removal  with other activities, such as replacing halogen downlights, removing and destroying second fridges or installing ultra low flow showerheads.
