By 30 June of every year, all energy savings certificates (ESCs) representing energy savings that occurred in the previous calendar year must be registered in the ESS Registry. This is a statutory deadline under clause 34(3) of Schedule 4A to the Electricity Supply Act 1995 and the Scheme Administrator has no discretion to extend or waive this deadline.
This means that ESCs for energy savings activities in 2020 (2020 vintage ESCs) must be registered by 30 June 2021. You will not be able to register ESCs for energy savings activities you performed in 2020 after this deadline.

We recommend you start planning your registration intentions no later than February each year. Early action will allow for audits and changes to accreditations to be completed, and manage any additional time for unexpected delays.
