Your ongoing compliance

Ongoing compliance is key to your success as an Accredited Certificate Provider (ACP).  We provide guidance to ACPs on how to manage their accreditations under the ESS, and on the systems and processes we use to monitor and enforce the compliance of ACPs.

We take compliance seriously and apply a risk-based framework to our compliance functions using a range of tools and mechanisms including audits, data analysis, market intelligence and enforcement actions.

Your Accreditation Notice

When you are accredited as an ACP, you are issued an Accreditation Notice that sets out the conditions imposed on the accreditation, including:

  • The method used to calculate energy savings certificates (ESCs)
  • Reporting and auditing requirements
  • The number of ESCs able to be created, and
  • Any special accreditation conditions.

You should carefully review your Accreditation Notice as it contains mandatory requirements with which you must comply.  There are standard conditions applied to all accreditations, and specific conditions that depend on your calculation method and energy savings activity. If you have more than one accreditation under the ESS, each Accreditation Notice may be slightly different.
