Our office will close for two weeks

Our office closes Friday 24 December 2021 and will re-open on Monday 10 January 2022.

There are some actions related to the registration of Energy Savings Certificates (ESCs), audits and lighting applications that you may wish to complete prior to our office closing for the year.

The diagram below shows a timeline of key dates for your consideration.

The dates and actions shown in the diagram are described in the sub-sections of this webpage

The ESC registration fee increases on 1 January 2022

The ESC registration fee will increase from $0.89 to $0.92 on 1 January 2022. The 2022 ESC registration fee will apply to ESCs included in all ESS Registry invoices generated on or after 1 January 2022.

For the 2021 ESC registration fee to apply to your ESCs, you must compete the following three actions by the specified dates:

Step 1: submit your implementation data sheet by midday 24 December; Step 2: register the ESCs; Step 3: generate your invoice before midnight 31 December

Please note that:

  • Implementation data sheets submitted after 12:00 midday on 24 December 2021 will be uploaded to the ESS Registry on 10 January 2022.
  • Invoices generated on the ESS Registry from 1 January 2022 will be subject to the 2022 ESC registration fee.

See Registering and Trading ESCs for more information about the ESC registration process.

Pay your ESC registration fees early

The ESC registration fee must be paid by you, and processed by IPART, for your ESCs to be available for transfer or surrender (as long as there are no other administration holds on your ESCs). For your ESCs to be available for transfer or surrender before our office closes for the year, we must receive your ESC registration fee payment by 23 December 2021. Please allow sufficient time for banks to process your payment by this date.

Any payments received after 23 December 2021 will be processed on 10 January 2022.

Allow sufficient time for audits

Please allow sufficient time for your audits if you wish them to be completed (i.e. the final audit report accepted) well before our office closes for the year. For your ESC creation limits to be updated in the ESS Registry following an audit, the audit outcome must be accepted by 23 December 2021. We will update ESC creation limits on the ESS Registry by 24 December 2021 for all audits where the outcome has been accepted on or before 23 December 2021.

We will update ESC creation limits on 10 January 2022 for all audits completed on 24 December 2021.

Submit your lighting equipment applications

Any applications for acceptance of lighting equipment submitted prior to close of business on 6 December 2021 will be assessed (i.e. products accepted or a request for information issued) prior to our office closing for the year.

Any applications that are under assessment when our office closes will be recommenced in the new year.
